Last year we had 117 members in our society from a range of degree courses throughout the University of Sheffield. We believe that SIFE is great for everyone and whatever you decide to do in the future, Sheffield SIFE will prepare you with the necessary skills to succeed. Also, because we're a big society we have lots of socails and it's a great way to make friends.

Last year we ran 27 commercial and social projects including helping a group of visually impaired children to run their own company, helping 4 impoverished communities in rural Ghana, helping the homeless across Sheffield and running an array of our own commercial revenue-generating businesses, which make money for SIFE and the students involved.

In the last three years Sheffield SIFE has impacted the lives of 3,607 people and more than 20 businesses. Our impact is rising year on year and we're expecting 2010 to be even bigger and better! From finance to CV's and helping businesses to the homeless Sheffield SIFE has radically changed the lives of people in our community and will continue to do so.

Since being founded in 2005 Sheffield SIFE has won local, national and international recognition for its activities in the community. Awards range from best new society and best society for personal development in 2006, Make your Mark champions in 2007, SIFE UK runners up and European SIFE champions 2008 and HSBC Financial Literacy Champions 2009.

Last year we raised £28,570 through an array of our own commercial enterprises, grants from local and national organisations and sponsorship. These finances will be used to change lives in our community and around the world. Our commercial enterprises range from selling tickets to Steelers Ice Hockey matches to running our own bar crawl raising over £2,000.
